Our light pick of the week is this beautiful stripe bowl pendant light available at West Elm. The color is described as "moody gray." The lower rim is completed with a silver edge, just divine.

Bulbs and Shades

Melissa Borrell is a new designer favorite of ours this week. We featured Borrell’s Pop-Out™ jewelry earlier this week on DiDi Magazine's blog, the post is here.

As Borrell is a designer with several talents, we could not resist mentioning her on Lome Magazine’s blog as well.

We are head over heels with her Shadow Bulbs™...

and Fantasy Shades™.

New Alphabet Poster Colors

We just got word from San Francisco based artist and designer Lorena Siminovich of Petit Collage, that her beautiful alphabet prints are now available in pink and blue based color schemes.

The posters are $50 unframed and are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper (we always love a green spin).

Subliminal Textures

Marney McDiarmid's ceramic pieces are truly original and captivating. With her use of image transfer, embedded textures and text, each piece's voice resonates sweetly and loudly.

It was really tough to create a shortlist from her images...we did our best. Here are a few of our favorite vases:

And some of our favorite bowls...

I cannot stop looking at this beautiful bowl, the intermingling of textures is sublime. McDiarmid's website will not disappoint.

Innovative Storage

One of our favorite new products from the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan is Shally (Shay) Alkalay's chest of drawers 'Stack,' for Established and Sons. Alkalay also co-owns design firm Raw-Edges.

Floral Abstraction - Emily Filler

You cannot help but be struck by Emily Filler's floral abstractions in oil. It is immensely impressive how her objects simply melt into each other.

Garden #18, 24x48

Red Blooms, 24x48

Blue Breeze, 36x60

This Ottawa born artist's site is a must visit for the visual pleasure of viewing her works.

Filler will be at the annual Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibit in the heart of downtown Toronto, at Nathan Phillips Sqaure. If you are in the city, make sure to stop by.
